EDIT: 5/11/2009: Was just notified that this piece won first place in the Short Story Category in Victor Valley College's Writing Contest!
Behold! The first of the pieces for my challenge! (You know, the one I posted here: [link]) The inspiration for this short story came from this image: [link] which was taken by my friend  It was originally going to be a piece about a girl who's boyfriend committed suicide by drowning himself in the ocean, but I like the way it evolved into its current incarnation.
